Apple Events 2025: What to Expect This Year

Get the inside scoop on Apple's 2025 event schedule, including predicted dates for WWDC and the iPhone 17 launch, plus a look at potential hardware updates.

Apple Events 2025: What to Expect This Year

Apple, known for its innovative products and meticulously planned events, continues to captivate the tech world. Unlike many tech companies, Apple prefers to host its own events, showcasing its latest creations directly to the press and millions of online viewers. What can we expect from Apple's event calendar in 2025?

Predicting Apple's 2025 Event Schedule

While Apple hasn't officially announced its 2025 event lineup, we can make some educated guesses based on past trends. So far in 2025, Apple launched a new iPhone via press release on February 19. Read all about the iPhone 16e here. Traditionally, Apple holds three or four major events each year:

  • A spring event (March/April, though sometimes in May)
  • WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June
  • A fall event (typically focused on the iPhone and Apple Watch) in September
  • A late-fall event (October/November)

However, as the article notes, "This event calendar is by no means set in stone, though, with the spring and October events being less regular. Some years, Apple doesn’t hold a spring event at all, as was the case in 2023."

WWDC 2025: Software and Maybe Some Hardware

The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is almost a certainty for June. We can expect the keynote to take place on June 9. This event is primarily focused on software, giving developers a sneak peek at the next versions of Apple's operating systems:

  • iOS 19
  • iPadOS 19
  • macOS 16
  • watchOS 12
  • tvOS 19
  • realityOS update

Apple sometimes surprises with hardware announcements at WWDC, particularly for power users. We might see updates to the Mac lineup, potentially including the M4 Mac Studio, M4 Ultra Mac Pro, or an M4 Pro 32-inch iMac Pro.

September: The iPhone 17 and Beyond

The September event is practically an Apple tradition. This is where the company typically unveils its latest iPhones and Apple Watches. In 2025, we anticipate the arrival of the iPhone 17, Apple Watch 11, a new Apple Watch Ultra, and potentially a new Apple Watch SE. There's also a possibility that the M5 chip could debut in the iPad Pro.

As for the timing, Apple keynotes usually start at 10 am PT. If Apple doesn't hold an event and instead just issues a press release that usually happens around 8 am PT, 11 am ET and 4 pm GMT/BST. When Apple holds a keynote to announce a new product it usually starts at the following times in the countries where most of our readers live:

  • U.S.: at 10 am (PST/PDT), 11 am (MST/MDT), noon (CST/CDT), 1 pm (EST/EDT)
  • Canada: as above, and 2 pm (AST/ADT)
  • U.K.: at 6 pm (GMT/BST)
  • Europe: at 7 pm (CET/CEST), 8 pm (EET/EEST)
  • India: at 10.30 pm (IST)
  • Australia: Next day at 1 am (AWST/AWDT), 2.30 am (ACST/ACDT), 3 am (AEST/AEDT)
  • New Zealand: Next day at 5 am (NZST/NZDT)

October: Mac Refresh?

The October event is less predictable. In 2024, Apple opted for press releases instead of a dedicated event. However, Apple often uses this time frame to update its Mac lineup. Keep an eye out for potential M5-powered Macs, including the M5 MacBook Pro. Apple has introduced two new MacBook Air models featuring the M4 chip in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes that deliver enhanced speed and affordability with a starting price of $999. Additionally, the company has updated its desktop line-up with a refreshed Mac Studio.

Recently, Apple also upgraded the Mac Studio with the new M4 Max chip and unveiled its most powerful chip ever, the M3 Ultra, emphasizing its raw, potentially insane power. The new M3 Ultra chip represents a significant advancement in Apple Silicon technology.
