A PhD student who filmed his sex attacks as "souvenirs" has been convicted of drugging and raping 10 women in both London and China. Zhenhao Zou, 28, also kept a trophy box of women’s belongings, according to reports from Inner London Crown Court.
Zou, described as "charming," acted as if he was untouchable, according to authorities. A search of his south London flat in January 2024 revealed a lavish lifestyle, with designer bags, jewelry, a Rolex watch, and designer clothes, some still with tags on. DCI Richard Mackenzie commented on the search, highlighting the extent of Zou's wealth.

Filming Attacks as "Souvenirs"
What makes this case particularly disturbing is that Zou filmed nine of the attacks, keeping them as "souvenirs". This chilling detail adds another layer of depravity to his crimes.
The Inner London Crown Court heard how Zou drugged and raped his victims, violating their trust and safety in the most egregious way. His actions have caused immense pain and suffering to the women involved. "The impact on these women is unimaginable," said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police.
Police Appeal for More Victims
Authorities are now appealing for more than 50 additional potential victims to come forward. They believe that Zou may have harmed many more women than are currently known. The police are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are working tirelessly to bring all those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice. The discovery of the "trophy box" containing women's belongings further underscores Zou's callous disregard for his victims.
A Lavish Lifestyle Built on Crime?
The contrast between Zou's "charming" facade and his brutal actions is stark. His luxurious lifestyle, funded by unknown means, raises questions about whether he was using his wealth to facilitate his crimes. The police are investigating all possible avenues to determine the full extent of his criminal activity.
